About The Press

Real experience. Practical wisdom. Meaningful conversations.

Augustus Management Press is an independent publishing imprint founded by Pamela Spencer, dedicated to sharing ideas, experiences, and lessons that help people grow, lead, and navigate the complexities of life.

Built on the belief that some of our most valuable lessons come not from having all the answers, but from the experiences that challenge us to find them, the Press brings together practical insights, thoughtful reflection, and honest conversations.

Our books explore leadership, personal growth, professional transformation, and the human experiences that shape who we become. They are written for people who are curious, who question conventional thinking, who may sometimes feel like the square peg in the round hole, and who believe there is always something more to learn.

Why Augustus?

The Press takes its name from Augustus, affectionately known as Gus (or GusGus to his closest friends), a much-loved orange tabby whose personality and presence inspired the name and identity of the imprint.

Just as Gus has become the face of the Press, curiosity, individuality, and a little personality are part of its spirit.

Our Philosophy

We believe wisdom is meant to be shared, leadership is a practice rather than a title, and the most meaningful growth often comes from being willing to examine what we thought we already knew.

Our goal is simple: to create books worth reading, ideas worth considering, and conversations worth having.
